Just spent the day wandering along the newly redeveloped riverside (Malacon) of Guayaquil. The pleasant river breeze almost helped us to forget how hot it is here, and we had a very peaceful day feeding fish and watching birds. Apparently Guayaquil used to be a place to void due to the high crime rate, but the authorities here have made a great job of clearing things up. So far we are enjoying Guayaquil much more than we thought we would!
